Our volunteers are at the heart of Animal FoodBank UK, helping us provide pet food support to people experiencing hardship across England, Scotland and Wales.
Whether you can help occasionally or more regularly, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference to pets and the people who love them.
You don’t need previous charity experience — just reliability, kindness and a willingness to support what we do.
Ways You Can Help
Our volunteers support Animal FoodBank UK in many different ways, depending on their location, availability and the needs of the charity.
Local Pet Food Support
Help collect, sort or distribute donated pet food in your local area, or occasionally deliver food to people who have been approved for support.
Food Collections & Donations
Help us collect donations from shops, businesses, collection points and supporters, and get them to where they are needed.
Events & Fundraising
Support Animal FoodBank UK at community events, shows, fundraising activities and awareness events.
Spreading Awareness
Help us tell more people about Animal FoodBank UK and the support available to people struggling to feed their pets.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
From time to time, we may also recruit volunteers for areas such as administration, social media, events coordination and other specialist roles.
These opportunities depend on the charity's needs at the time and may not always be available.
You do not have to do everything. We will talk to you about what you are comfortable doing, where you are based and how much time you can realistically offer.

What Volunteering With Us Is Like
Animal FoodBank UK is a friendly, volunteer-led charity, and we understand that everyone has different amounts of time they can give.
Some volunteers help regularly, while others support us occasionally when they are available.
You will be supported by our team and given the information you need for the role you are helping with.
We simply ask that our volunteers are:
Reliable and respectful
Kind and non-judgemental
Comfortable following our guidance and procedures
Honest about what they can realistically commit to
Willing to communicate with the team when needed
Every contribution matters, whether you can help once a week, once a month or just from time to time.

Who Can Volunteer?
To volunteer with Animal FoodBank UK, you must be 18 years old or over.
We welcome volunteers from across England, Scotland and Wales and from a wide range of backgrounds.
You do not need previous charity experience, but we do ask that volunteers are:
Friendly, respectful and non-judgemental
Reliable and able to communicate with the team
Comfortable following Animal FoodBank UK guidance and procedures
Honest about their availability and what they can commit to
Supportive of our aim to keep pets and the people who love them together
Some volunteer roles may have additional requirements depending on what is involved. We will explain these before you take on the role.
